I’m Louise, and I’m lucky enough to live in wonderful Lincolnshire, right up in the rolling Wolds amongst the fields and trees, along with my husband and two boys.
I have always loved crafts thanks to my nana and my mum, who were always making things (and in my mum’s case, still is!). They really inspired me and I and grew up with the intense desire to make things for myself, either to be frugal, or just for the sheer enjoyment of it. One of Mum’s favourite stories is about the cardboard glasses that I made as a small child, which I would produce when I needed to inspect the labels on the groceries. I also loved making my own advent calendars at Christmas. I adored making the little numbered windows and cutting them out carefully so that they opened to reveal the spaces behind them where I would draw tiny pictures.
As soon as I was old enough to sew and knit, I began sewing and knitting. I loved creating something from just a ball of wool or a piece of fabric. This served me well through my teens too and I was one of the last generation of true students who was so broke I had to sew and adapt clothes myself. My wedding was a handmade affair too and it made the day all the more special knowing that I had created much of it.
After leaving work to be a full-time mother in 2017, I felt that I had an opportunity to pursue my dream of making things that others might like enough to buy. I began experimenting with ideas and developed my first set of hand-made cards, which I sold at the village garage sale. I got some lovely feedback and used my earnings to buy more materials. From there, my little business was born!
It fills me with joy that I can make others happy with cards and gifts that are absolutely and wholeheartedly made with love.
